Description:
The Agriculture Business Management Certificate of Achievement program provides students with current, marketable skills and knowledge to enter the agriculture industry. It incorporates technology, communication skills, and principles as applied to the field.
The challenging and diversified field of agriculture business provides a large employment potential for men and women. Opportunities exist in areas of product marketing and distribution, input supply, sales and services, business management, and communications.
California needs over 8,000 additional trained people each year for employment in agriculture. The training program at SRJC prepares the student for a choice of jobs on the farm as well as related jobs off the farm. Working conditions in agricultural positions are ideal for those individuals who enjoy working out-of-doors.
This program of study is also available as an Associate degree major option. For more information see the Agriculture Department website.
It is important that students who are completing an Associate Degree and desire to transfer to a four-year
institution meet with a counselor to plan their lower division coursework. While many majors at SRJC are
intended to align with lower division major preparation required by California public universities,
specific lower-division major requirements vary among individual campuses. See a
counselor,
visit the Transfer Center,
and check Guides For Transfer in Specific Majors,
and ASSIST to review transfer preparation guides for specific schools and majors.
